The Tucson Firefighters annual Mark Paris Disabled Firefighters Golf Tournament is fast approaching, and we hope you’ll join us! As a participating sponsor you will have the opportunity to show your support for those men and women who work hard everyday to protect the citizens of Tucson. Last year’s tournament was a resounding success, and we are counting on you to help us reach our goal of raising $100,000 for our foundation.
Who is Mark Paris, and why should I get involved?
After more than 22 years of service on the Tucson Fire Department, Captain Mark Paris was diagnosed with Sarcoidosis, leaving him unable to perform his duties as a Firefighter. This debilitating illness, which is becoming more common among firefighters due to the long term exposure to many hazardous materials, is not considered a ‘presumptive illness’ in the fire service and therefore does not qualify for a full medical retirement.
Two years ago the Tucson Firefighters united together to raise money to help Mark and his family pay for his extensive medical bills, and after such a great success, the Firefighters have created a foundation in hopes of being able to help other Firefighters who have become ill or disabled while working for the fire service.
Your generous donation will help to aid those men and women who have given so much to serve and protect the residents of Tucson, and will show how much we truly appreciate the sacrifices they make for our community. Whether you are able to be one of our main sponsors, place an ad in our program, or simply come out and show your support by booking a foursome, we thank you in advance for your contribution.
What’s in it for you and your business?
Your business/organization will have their name exposed to hundreds of people the day of the tournament, and countless others through our advertising efforts, word of mouth, t-shirts, and other marketing materials. There are numerous levels of sponsorship and support available for this exciting event, many of which are outlined in the enclosed material. And remember, your sponsorship donations are tax-deductible!
To Whom it May Concern,
I have listed below, the time line concerning my illness and the associated history of my employment as a Captain with the Tucson Fire Department. The last 14 years of my career was spent at Station Eight which was and is now, the busiest Engine Company in the State of Arizona as well as being one of the top ten busiest engines in the nation. I had documented responding to well over 20,000 emergency calls during my career, most of them were from Fire Station Eight which is located at 250 W. King Rd. Tucson AZ 85705
Due to some documentation not being available any longer and perhaps a slight lapse of memory, some of the dates might be off a little bit but the events are in order as they occurred. If the reader has any questions, comments or concerns, I can be reached at the above E-Mail address or by the means listed below. Thank you very much for your attention to this matter, it is greatly appreciated by myself as well as my family and many concerned friends.
Sincerely,
Mark K. Paris
